Police ID Woman Killed by Car in Gates (R News) Gates police released the name of the woman killed on Brooks Avenue Wednesday night. Police say Demetrius Brown, 23, of Rochester, was crossing Brooks Avenue near Buell Road when she was struck by a car. Film Based on Local Murders Debuts (R News) Pittsford Cinemas rolled out the red carpet for the cast and crew of the film The Alphabet Killer. The film, which premiered Thursday, was more than two years in the making. Pittsford native Greg Polisseni is the executive producer. "It?s absolutely amazing,? Polisseni said of the film?s debut. Jury Selection Begins in Funeral Director Trial (R News) Jury selection started Friday in the trial of a former Rochester funeral director. Jason Gano is accused of illegally harvesting tissue and bone from bodies awaiting cremation. Gano, 32, turned down a plea offer in exchange for a trial. Five-Month-Old Baby Dies (R News) Police are investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby. Authorities ruled the death suspicious. Police were called to 44 Cutler Street around 1 a.m. Wednesday for the report of a baby not breathing and unresponsive. Teen Charged in October Murder Case (R News) An 18-year-old Rochester man is under arrest, accused of murdering another man last month. Police arrested Crystapher Hampton Thursday on Raines Park. He's charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Scott Miller, 49. |
